Heart and Seoul (Part Two)

Hello, Hello! Last time we left off, I told you all that I was off exploring the rest of Seoul. Here's the rest of my adventure, and the following day, today! Happy Tuesday, America!

After the Scavenger Hunt, we were let go for free time. Free time, for us meant a night out in Seoul and FREEDOM!!!

We began our journey by heading down to buy our tickets home at Seoul Station. Can I just say, thank the lord for Alex, Hoa, and Leslie. Without them, I might still be lost in Seoul. Luckily, the three combined were able to find out which subway we needed to ride in order to get to the Seoul Station and on to our next stop of the night, Hongdae! Hongdae is known as the party district of Seoul, for lack of a better word. It is a large strip of restaurants and bars in Seoul. In other words, it is SO MUCH FUN! Luckily, we walked off the subway station and shortly ran into a Mexican restaurant where I had a wonderful quesadilla and then we ran into my best friends for the evening, Andrew and Trevor. We planned on staying in a bathhouse, 찜질방 (Jimjilbang) but ended up just following Andrew and Trevor back to their hostel so we would be able to find our place to sleep at what we knew would be the end of a very long night.

After dropping off our things at the hostel, we freshened up and went out for a night on the town!

We started out at a very interesting place, The Ho Bar. Yes, it was fun. No, it's not a bar filled with that. It's a bar that kind of just blares music like a club, but it also was just a bar. Apparently, it's really popular in Korea but we didn't like it so much. We then left, and found a place more out style, an underground restaurant where we enjoyed a kimchi pancake and some Soju!

Kimchi Pancake!

After that, we moved onto our favorite place, 노래방, or Korean karaoke! We always have such a great time there! Here are some photos of us, jamming out of course!

After Korean karaoke, we moved to a few other spots and ended up getting lost. This is where the savior, Andrew comes in. Andrew is fluent in Korean and was able to get us a taxi and get us home. What a blessing. Haha! We ended up getting  in around 4:30 a.m. What a great time in Seoul!

The next day we got up, and Laura and I went to Paris Baguette on the corner for breakfast and then were shortly joined by everyone else. We then left to grab some train tickets back to Jochiwon for Andrew and Trevor. We love the Korean subway that we have to take to get from place to place in Seoul!

After getting their tickets, we wanted to walk to the Namdaemun Market. You know those scenes you see in all movies about Asia or China Town? The one with the busy street vendors and street food? Yeah, that's Namdaemun. It's an incredible place to shop, and eat delicious food!

And best of all, we found my favorite stop of the day, a Korean Candy Shop!!!

After that, we headed back to the train station. Of course, we ran into a family favorite along the way! Sadly, this little shop was closed, but of course I will be going back to visit soon!

We then arrived back at the train station and Kyla, Laura, and I decided to go shop around before settling to eat and getting on the train. Yes, our backpacks were so heavy we had to turn them around. Quite embarassing, but oh so comfy! We then got on the train, and returned to Jochiwon to begin our final week at orientation!

What a great time in Seoul! I cannot wait to go back again to see what other adventures are awaiting us there!
